Survival mode is fun enough with a bro but later stages are prime bullshit with bullet sponges enemies. Compared to MW2 it was inferior in almost every way: the campaign feels like a rehash from MW2, the MP is not good thanks to shitty maps, and the coop is also kind of a rehash from MW2.

I thought it was a disappointing game and being released around the same time as BF3 didn't helped. My rating score for CoD: MW2 and CoD:MW3 is 8 out of 10 And the ending which should be included in the list of the best endings in the history of videogames.Įventually what we got is one good game divided into three different chapters released over a span of 4 years - of course one can say there hadn't been made much progress since the release but can you really improve the perfection? There isn't much I have to say about the third chapter of the franchise because it has everything MW1 and MW2 has - intense firefights, solid storyline, different gameplay mechanics, grandiloquent soundtrack and epic moments. They tried to provide some explanation by the end but it wasn't convincing at all - I would be grateful if you explained it to me in the comments. What I didn't like is lack of motivation or at least clear explanation for Shepherd's betrayal. The third act was rather average and considering MW 1 was more balanced throughout the whole campaign I decided to rate them equally - 8 out of 10.

The plot took its time to develop and by the end of the second act I thought I certainly will rate MW 2 higher than MW 1 because though the first act was more or less the same as in the first one the second one definitely is the best in the series so far. I didn't expect MW 2 to pick up the story exactly where MW 1 ended it so I was pleasantly surprised and it added a completely new layer of importance to the whole thing. The old /r/patientgamers Essential Games Listįirst of all I have to mention I thoroughly enjoyed Modern Warfare 1 (here is my review of it ) and the sequel ended up to be as good as the original if not better - the story in this one is certainly more consistent and intriguing.
